About the Opportunity
As we expand rapidly globally, we are looking for a highly energetic and motivated senior level legal counsel with extensive experience at a global in-house with a focus on APAC legal and compliance framework and expertise in investment, employment and product related laws and regulations. In this role, you must have outstanding core legal skills, including researching and writing, excellent judgment, the ability to assess risk appropriately, a strong work ethic and some leadership skill.
What You’ll Be Doing
Provide legal advice and support to the internal stakeholders in handling all personnel, administrative, business and product related matters whether contentious and non-contentious
Provide legal advice on various business and investment models, including understanding our business and products, our synergies with investment targets
Provide legal advice on various people management and engagement models, including on-site, remote and hybrid working models, relocation and internal transfer matters
Manage disputes and litigation cases in relation to investment, shareholders, employment related matters
Advise on the investigation and management of misconduct cases
Draft, maintain, review and negotiate a wide range of documents, including investment documentation such as term sheet, sales and purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, shareholder agreement, employment contracts, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, employment and staff related policies, procedures and handbooks, long term incentive scheme and plan, code of conduct, among other things
Provide business driven solutions and advise the best options to internal stakeholders
Liaise and manage external counsel whenever required
Monitor and advise on legal, compliance and regulatory developments and their impact on the business
Conduct
training and provide day-to-day coaching to junior team members
Review, draft and revise a broad range of commercial and product agreements
Provide general support to the legal and compliance department
Capable to lead, and at the same time can be a good team player
What We Look For In You
Law degree holder (LLB/ J.D.) qualified in Hong Kong, Singapore, the UK or the US
Qualified lawyer with 6-8, 8-10 years PQE with extensive experience at a reputable multinational organisation including contentious and non-contentious experience
Experience with APAC and common law legal matters
Interest in digital assets,
Web3, blockchain and related legal, compliance and regulatory matters
Able to work independently with minimal supervision, result-oriented and willing to take up responsibilities
Commitment to ensuring the team succeeds with all tasks, duties and projects and willingness to help a team member in need
Sound judgment on business practices, internal and external stakeholder relationship management and reputational risk
Proficiency in spoken and written English, able to read and write simplified Chinese, working-level Mandarin is an advantage
Well-organized, detail-oriented, presentable and with excellent drafting and communication skills (both verbally and in writing, English and Chinese)
Ability to approach situations and challenges with a sense of humour
In-house experience at technology, fintech or digital asset companies an advantage
Experience in dealing with
crypto and digital asset matters a definite advantage
Experience in managing and leading a small team
Experience in working in a fast pace environment
